250 Moto 2 at Washougal and the Pacific Northwest weekend is coming to a close for the small bore class. Round 8 of the 2026 AMA Pro Motocross Championship has been a pivotal day for the 250 title fight — and Moto 2 at one of the most technical tracks on the outdoor calendar delivered the kind of racing that will be talked about for the rest of the season.

250 Class Moto 2 — Washougal

Washougal in Moto 2 condition is a serious challenge. The off-camber sections that were already demanding in the morning become even more treacherous as the surface breaks down, and the rhythm lanes that rewarded flow and precision earlier in the day now demand every bit of focus a rider can muster. The 250 class dug deep in the closing laps and the racing was everything you want from a championship moto at this stage of the season.

Round 8 Done — Three Rounds Left in the 250 Championship

With the Washougal overall decided the 250 championship has just three rounds remaining — Unadilla, Budds Creek, and Ironman. The points gap at the top of the standings after today will define how those final rounds play out. Riders with a cushion can afford to race smart while those behind have no choice but to attack every single moto between now and the finale in Indiana.

Washougal delivered a memorable day of 250 racing and the series now heads east for Round 9 at Unadilla MX in New Berlin, New York — a classic outdoor venue with a layout that will once again test the 250 field in completely different ways.
