Late in the day at Washougal the track is at its most unforgiving. The off-camber sections are rutted and unpredictable, the rhythm lanes have lost their flow, and the sections that were already demanding in Moto 1 have become a survival test by the time the 450s line up for the second gate drop. Riding through that kind of deterioration at full championship pace is what separates the contenders from everyone else — and the 450 class at Washougal showed exactly what that looks like.

Washougal is in the books and the 2026 AMA Pro Motocross 450 championship heads into its final three rounds — Unadilla, Budds Creek, and Ironman. The points situation after today will define everything about how those remaining weekends play out. Every decision, every risk, and every lap from here to the Ironman finale in Indiana is a championship decision. The riders who handle that pressure best will be the ones lifting the trophy at the end of August.
The series now heads to Unadilla MX in New Berlin, New York for Round 9 — a classic East Coast venue with a unique layout and a history of delivering dramatic championship moments at exactly this stage of the outdoor season.
