450 Class Moto 2 — SMX Columbus
The Columbus track in Moto 2 condition is a different beast from what the 450 riders saw in the opening moto. The hybrid layout has developed character across a full night of racing — the supercross sections are rougher, the motocross elements have found their ruts, and the rhythm lanes that separated riders in Moto 1 demand even more precision and commitment the second time around. In the 450 class that level of track evolution brings out the very best and the very worst — and Moto 2 at SMX Columbus had plenty of both.
Hunter Lawrence, Jett Lawrence, Jorge Prado, Haiden Deegan, and Chase Sexton — the premier class talent on show in Columbus is as deep as it gets anywhere in the world of motocross, and every one of them was pushing the limit in the final moto of the opening Playoff round.
