Round 3 of the 2026 AMA Pro Motocross Championship heads to Colorado and one of the most unique tracks on the outdoor calendar — Thunder Valley. Before the motos get underway, the track map gives us a first look at what riders and teams are working with this weekend.
Thunder Valley Track Map — Round 3
Thunder Valley sits at altitude — and that alone makes it a different kind of challenge. The thin air at Lakewood, Colorado affects both man and machine, and teams spend a significant amount of time adjusting their setups to deal with the conditions. Carb jetting, suspension settings, and physical preparation all look different at Thunder Valley compared to a sea-level round.
The track itself is a flowing, high-speed layout with elevation changes that make it visually spectacular and physically demanding. The track map above gives a feel for the flow of the circuit — wide open sections, technical rhythm lanes, and the kind of layout that rewards riders who can carry momentum and stay smooth even when their lungs are working overtime.
One of the Most Unique Rounds on the Calendar
Thunder Valley is a fan favourite and a rider test all in one. The Colorado setting, the mountain backdrop, and the altitude factor combine to make this one of the most memorable rounds of the outdoor season every single year. No two riders experience Thunder Valley the same way — and that unpredictability is part of what makes it so compelling to watch.
